Islam promotes the unity

The message of Islam ordained by ALLAH ALMIGHTY is a call upon unity and solidarity. The more we appreciate and practice Islam, the more it will strengthen the unity among us. Contrarily, if we do not appreciate the beauty of Islam as much as we should, then the probability of discord and animosity will increase.

Islam promotes unity not only in Muslims but also in other people. It is Islam that can strengthen the unity among Muslims and other people. There are three ways by which  Islam can strengthen unity.

At first, call to believe in one GOD. All Muslims hold onto the belief that there is only one GOD. We believe in one Book that is HOLY QURAN. Muslims offer prayers facing one QIBLAH. We are all the followers of the same Prophet; HOLY PROPHET (P.B.U.H).

Secondly, our worship is for ALLAH, the one, and the ALMIGHTY. Our faith is in one GOD. We pray, fast, perform our Haj and carry out other sorts of Ibadat solely because of ALLAH. Let us reflect on what ALLAH has said in SURAH AL Inam; Verse 62:
"Say, Indeed, My prayers, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for ALLAH, LORD of the worlds"
The way we perform our prayers can be different, but the purpose of prayers is the same that is only for ALLAH.

Lastly, Islam brings about unity through good character and noble values.  The basic ethical values are brought by Islam. Such as preserving lives, ending hostility, eliminating the differences on a racial or color basis, not lying, and not be cruel to others are universal values accepted by all, and not just by Muslims.

Notwithstanding the differences in our orientation, our school of thought, and no matter how big the differences in opinion among us might seem, we must remember that after all, we are all ALLAH's creations. We are all very particular in our own ways. It is not possible to unite different ideologies. But we can unite our hearts and souls. Our hearts relate to ALLAH and it can consolidate with ALLAH's will.

This is the unity that exists in Islam. The base of the teachings of Islam is unity and consent. Let's start to build relationships based on similarity and unity. Let's also not begin by looking for differences and conflicts. And if differences in opinion arise, reflect on them and advise in a gentle, loving, and friendly way.

Hopefully. in this way we can develop every interaction and relationship on love and affection. In this way, we can be united as a Muslim Ummah as HOLY PROPHET (P.B.U.H) ordered us to live. The HOLY PROPHET (P.B.U.H) said:
" Muslims are like one body of a person; if the eye is sore, the whole body aches, and if the headaches, the whole body aches."
