Why is Masjid Al-Aqsa so significant for Muslims?

 Why we love Palestine:

  • Palestine has been the abode and land of the Prophets.
  • Hazrat Ibrahim migrated to Palestine.
  • God Almighty saved Hazrat Lut (A.S.) from the torment that had befallen his nation in the same place.
  • Hazrat Dawood (A.S) settled on this land and also built his altar here.
  • Hazrat Sulaiman (A.S) used to sit in this country and rule over the whole world.
  • The famous story of an ant in which an ant said to the rest of his comrades, "Ants, get into your burrows" took place here in a valley in the city of Ashkelon in this state, which was later called "Wadi al-Naml." It means Valley of Ants.
  • The sanctuary of Hazrat Zakariya (A.S) is also in this city.
  • Prophet Musa (A.S.) had told his companions about this land to enter this Holy city. He (A.S.) called this city Holy as it was free from polytheism and was the home of the Prophets.
  • Many miracles took place in this city, including the blessed birth of Hazrat Essa (A.S.) from the womb of a virgin Hazrat Maryam (A.S).
  • One of the emblems of the Hour will be the Hazrat Essa's return to earth in the same city.
  • Hazrat Isa (R.A) will kill the Antichrist at Bab-e- Lud in this city.
  • Palestine is the land of Mahshar.
  • Jooj and Majooj will commence attack and riot in the land from this city.
  • The story of Talut and Jalut took place in this city.
  • Palestine also has the honor of being the first qiblah of Muslims after the obligation of prayer. After the migration, Hazrat Jibraeel (PBUH) had changed the direction of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) from Al-Aqsa Mosque (Palestine) to Baitullah Kaaba (Mecca) during the prayer by the order of ALLAH. The mosque in which this incident took place is still called Masjid Qiblatin.
  •  The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) was brought here from Makkah to Jerusalem (Palestine) before being taken to heaven on the night of Ascension.
  • The Prophets (A.S) prayed here under the guidance of Sarkar Du Aalam (P.B.U.H). Thus, Palestine once again became the abode of all the prophets.
  • Abu Dharr (R.A) says: I asked the Messenger of ALLAH, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, which was the first mosque built on earth? He said, "The Sacred Mosque (Masjid Ul Haram/Khana KAABA)." Then I asked, which was the second one? He (P.B.U.H) said that Al-Aqsa Mosque (ie Jerusalem). I then asked what was the distance between the two? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Forty years old, and wherever you find time for prayer, perform it, so that is the mosque.
